1. Measurement Check:

  • Confirm dimensions of the refrigerator: Ensure the width, height, and depth of the refrigerator match your space, including allowances for door swing, airflow, and any additional space required.
  • Doorways and hallways: Measure the width of your doorways and hallways to make sure the refrigerator can pass through easily.
  • Pathway clearance: Remove any obstacles (furniture, rugs, etc.) along the delivery route from the entrance to the final placement area.

2. Electrical Outlet:

  • Check outlet type: Verify that there’s a standard 3-prong grounded outlet within 3-6 feet of the refrigerator location.
  • Power supply: Ensure that the outlet is on a dedicated 115V, 60Hz, 15 or 20-amp electrical circuit.
  • Clear access to the outlet: Make sure the outlet is easily accessible once the refrigerator is in place.

3. Water Line Connection (for refrigerators with water/ice dispensers):

  • Water supply line: Verify that you have an accessible water supply line (with a shutoff valve) within 6 feet of the refrigerator location.
  • Water shutoff: Locate your water shutoff valve and ensure it is functional and turned off before installation.
  • Existing water line: If replacing an existing refrigerator, confirm the water line is disconnected.

4. Clean and Clear Space:

  • Final placement area: Ensure the refrigerator’s placement area is clear, clean, and ready for the new appliance.
  • Old refrigerator: If the old refrigerator needs to be removed, ensure it’s empty and defrosted.
  • Floor protection: Protect your flooring by placing a protective covering if necessary to avoid any damage during the delivery process.

5. Appliance Handling:

  • Delivery route protection: Consider putting down floor coverings to prevent scratches or damage.
  • Securing pets: Ensure pets are safely secured in another room to prevent any interference during delivery.

6. Special Instructions:

  • Access permissions: If you won’t be home during delivery, arrange to provide access or have a responsible party present.

7. Verify Delivery Date & Time:

  • Confirm delivery appointment: Double-check your delivery date and time with Joe’s delivery team to ensure someone will be available to receive the refrigerator.
